Ancient Cross Coins

My daughter was playing with her piggy bank coins, I happen to warn her not to stamp with foot or flip coins as currency is being considered as God. For her understanding I said its Jesus. She immediately pointed at a 2 rupee coin, yes daddy Jesus is in the coin. Only then I realised a plus symbol and 4 dots around it. I then turned curious to find out the intended meaning of the coin minted with a cross symbol. 

I got the answer with some diplomacy associated to it. This specific coin is called UNITY COINS minted during 2005, 2006, and 2007, where Dr. Manmohan Singh was then Prime Minister of India. This cross symbol and 4 dots represent 4 directions forming United India. Plus and double plus aids the visually challenged to identify the coin. However it is copy of old coin issued by King Louis the Pious.

When the succession party took-over power, they spread the information that Ms. Soniya Gandhi was trying to spread Christianity through these coins which were intended as *Holy cross* and 4 Gospels *Mathew, Mark, Luke & John*  Because of adverse publicity Govt and RBI stopped minting the coins though the coins were not withdrawn from circulation.

These coin will be a Coin Collectors treasure as this coin will never be issued again.
